A new NBA home, still needing some work

Have you ever bought a brand new house?

I did. About 10 years ago, my wife and I were living in Brooklyn and knew we couldn't save enough money in this lifetime to own something. We also knew we had to get a chip in the homeowner game. So we started looking at houses in east Tennessee, where her parents and brother had relocated.

There was a nearby subdivision where houses were sprouting up faster than dandelions. They were in various stages of construction, and one that we looked at was still just joists, beams and plywood. So when the builder walks you through and says, "This is the master bedroom," it's hard to get the image of a toolshed out of your mind.

That's what this blog looks like right now.

But you know what? It's mine, and I can relocate windows, add a deck, pick the carpet and colors and decide where to put the telephone pole, because it's still under construction.

Hopefully, the finished product is a place that you will visit frequently, especially if you're looking for NBA coverage and analysis with a sarcastic edge. There's a sampling here

Our next post will address the answer to this question: What is the genesis of the name of this blog? If you think you know, write it up in an email to cbernucca@comcast.net, and the best responses - along with the answer - will appear in the post.
